Nora Abousteit co-founded and co-runs BurdaStyle. Besides conceptualizing and strategizing with Benedikta, she is especially delighted to spread the word about BurdaStyle and to reach everyone who’s interested in cooperating with or joining the BurdaStyle community.
Alden Davis is Marketing Coordinator here at BurdaStyle, but wears many hats. Except for the pattern production, there is nary an aspect of the site she isn’t a part of. A born and raised Brooklynite and total goofball, she sometimes moonlights as a Plus Size model.
Larisa Grinblat is our patternmaker and seamstress extraordinaire. With over 15 years experience, she has lots of tricks and know-how up her sleeves. Larisa has always loved working with Burda patterns and is very excited to be part of BurdaStyle’s production team.
Hikaru Furuhashi is BurdaStyle’s graphic design ninja. She helps us visually communicate what we do and what we want to say. When you see tiles on the homepage and flyers at fairs, that’s her work. Hikaru is also an independent designer and creates as WonderWonder.
Alison Kelly works in editing/art directing at Burdastyle. She maintains the editorial calendar, constructs the “Editor’s Pick” column and writes the weekly blog “A Young Designer’s Diary” about her endeavors as an independent designer in New York city for her clothing line “Dahl”.
Carol Cho is the BurdaStyle Partnership Manager. She makes and maintains friendships with organizations and sponsors to expand and grow the sewing community as well as bringing original and participatory content to our audience. During her free-time, she enjoys eating her way through NYC, natural fibers, hiking and the 60s.
David Morgan is BurdaStyle's Project Coordinator and Customer Service Support. He organizes such initiatives as the the Sewing Club and Resource Map, making sure the community is aware of this great program. He is also an accessories designer, with a line called Chauncey P. Graham, and author of the blog Yes, David Is Here.
As co-founder, Benedikta von Karaisl used to share the job of running BurdaStyle with Nora, making sure everything ran smoothly on all fronts. To her the most exciting aspect of BurdaStyle was to bring you the freshest patterns and designs, learnings and sewing news with the help of the incredible team. She has now moved to Berlin to start Etsy Europe with her husband Matt Stinchcomb.
We are a friendly bunch using the web to bring the craft of sewing to a new generation of designers, hobbyists, DIYers and anyone looking to sew.
BurdaStyle offers interested companies and organizations packages to reach its audience.
