For the last 48 hours I have been unable to view any images I was going to post this last night (Australian time) but my images partially came back for 5 minutes I was then left with only some members id thumbnails, but nothing viewable in projects, patterns, photo’s etc. I have tried many fixes but as this is the only site I have problems viewing images/pictures in both IE8 and firefox(started using due to script problems on IE for BS) I am guessing it is something on the site causing the problem. Oops forgot to mention I can see the ads in firefox(lucky me)I have them blocked in IE8. Can someone please help. This is all very frustrating

OK it has now been a week of not seeing anything on burdastyle, Every other website I use is OK including old burdastyle, it doesn’t even have the script problems that are happening in the new site in IE8. Come on guys I know you are busy sorting glitches but even an acknowledgment to the problem would be good. The discussions are great but without pictures the projects, patterns etc are just a no go. A very disheartened Judeb.

Oh, poor you! Have you tried using different browsers? And I agree, the time spent getting back to us about these rather major problems (yours is VERY major) would be time wisely spent, since it would make us much happier and less stressed about it (information is key). And I mean that the computerguys themselves could just post a quick message, it’s oh so appreciated (though I never got any response from them on my issue). I wish you luck, hope you don’t give up and give in with this site!

Your issue has been sent in and someone should get back to you soon. Thanks for your patience. Happy sewing!

Also check with your internet provider, it turned out that my provider had just upgraded some of their softwear and had a conflict with burdastyle website (sorry don’t know details) it took them several weeks to correct the issue but now its all working fine.

I don’t know if this issue has been solved since February: I haven’t used the Burda site for a while and when I tried to view it found myself directed over here instead, where the layout is presumably trying to do something very fancy but comes out on my browser as rather a mess. Notably, a sizeable percentage of the pictures are missing, as mentioned above.
As the browser tries to redner the page I see error messages like “Not a JPEG” showing up in the status line: is it possible that the site is using images which have been given a “.JPG” suffix or are being served up by the site as JPEGs but are actually GIFs or some other image file format? (A lot of major PC browsers are apparently quite happy with this: other browsers can be stricter in what they expect. I’ve been unable to view the ‘emoticons’ on IMDB message boards for years because they happen to be GIFs served up for some reason as JPEGs….)

I too seem to have issues loading images from the patterns. Often. Every time I try to look through new and some of the old ones that are posted, it seems at least some portion of them refuse to load.

a minor bug in the header: when i log in, if there is something new in “activity” i have “1” written in red, but never without “1” being written for wall also (and the last post on my wall is dated july 1st, there’s nothing new)… it happens every time i log in the past few days… another thing: i just uploaded this project, i don’t understand why such small letters appear for description:( is there something I can do to fix that? thanks!

Wow! That is strange on the text being so tiny! I have sent your issue in for the tech to work on. Hopefully it will be fixed soon or I will have to get a magnifying class.
Happy sewing from your friendly burdastyle moderator!

I have 36 projects uploaded. Out of those only 7 have a few photos left. The rest have small "X"s in the corner. Even the ones that have viewable photos have photos missing. Please help.
Thanks

Hi, I am experiencing some of the problems mentioned above: First with the “Activity” same as “magdamagda” said and now some of my project images are not showing just like “thesweetesthing1975”. I am using Google hrome browser. This starts to smell like some kind of “computer flu”, doesn’t it?

Hi, I have the same problem – 5 out of 28 images are no longer there! Please help!
Jul 26, 2010, 11.25 AMby KateXXXXXX
Half my projects still have missing pictures, though I have managed to delete all the copies of the project that wouldn’t publish!
Why is this happening, and why is it taking so long to fix?

Hey Katie,
Sorry this is taking so long, it’s a very complicated bug. Can you send me the URLS and what OS and Browser you are using
Jul 26, 2010, 03.54 PMby 6kidsathome
Here is a URL, http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/blue-tunic—2, I am using Mac OSX 10.5.8, I use Firefox as my browser. I have been having difficulty viewing pics as well and was not sure if it was my system. Firefox has been updating a lot lately and not sure why. Thanks for the assistance.

Hi there. I seem to have trouble loading images for projects from past months. I can load pictures if I click on a link from the front page or search for a project that was loaded recently (today). I can’t load project images from a project that was posted in March of this year. I am also running a Mac OSX 10.5.8, but using Safari. Same problem when I load it in Foxfire.
It’s a bummer.

I was having this problem for a couple a months ago as well – when I tried to post about it I wasn’t even able to load the discussions page (images scrambled and icons unresponsive). I use Mozilla and have a high speed ADSL connection (fast enough for hubby and son to simultaneously run 3 high graphics online game accounts so that shouldn’t be an issue). That said, I haven’t noticed it being an issue much lately. There was only 1 creation I was unable to view over the weekend and everything else seems to be loading as normal for me.

I’m having the same problem – randomly over the website i try to look at people’s project list and most don’t have photos. Some of the new project lists are also missing pictures. Now it’s happened to my latest project as well (Dairy milk jacket). All I seen to get is the file name for the image & often the thumbnails are all bumched up and overlapping, so i can’t even read the filenames!
I’m using Firefox 3.6.7 and am connecting at work over the WAn, so it’s definately not a speed connection! I’ve also tried it on my iPhone (so using safari) & I’ve tried it in IE and I can’t see the iamges on either of those!
